The Physical Activity Council Readies its Survey for the 2013 Collection
For the past 5 Years, a group of 6 leading industry organizations have joined together to conduct the nation’s largest sports, fitness and recreational activity participation study. The study surveys over 40,000 Americans ages 6 and older to better understand their participation habits in over 120 sports and activities. This year’s survey collection will see some new data points added to the collection to help users better understand what sports and activities are growing and which ones are trending downwards.
The data is also very revealing with respect to inactivity in this country. We are all aware of the growing obesity crisis in this country and the yearly PAC study is considered the “gold standard” when it comes to looking at inactivity. This year’s collection will also feature questions that have been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, (CDC), as well as the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.
