Jordan Brand President Larry Miller, NCAA President Mark Emmert, and Facebook Sports Exec Nat Hampson Top Speaker Lineup for SFIA Industry Leaders Summit
SILVER SPRING, MD – August 13, 2014 – Leading executives from three of the world’s most recognizable brands are the latest confirmations as keynotes featured at the 2014 SFIA Industry Leaders Summit. Jordan Brand President Larry Miller, NCAA President Mark Emmert, and Facebook Head of Sports Brands and Sport Retailers Nat Hampson will speak at the Summit, presented by Electronic Transaction Systems Corporation (ETS), September 16-17, 2014 at The Drake Hotel in Chicago.
Miller will offer his views on the future of the sports and fitness industry and how successful brands will need to adapt in coming years. He will also highlight what Jordan Brand and Nike Inc. are doing to encourage youth sports participation. Dr. Emmert will discuss the changing landscape of collegiate sports and the variety of challenges facing the NCAA. He will also provide his perspective on the changing culture of sports in America and how, not just the sports and fitness industry, but the broader sports community can unite to get more Americans healthy and active. Nat Hampson, multi-channel marketing and media veteran, will highlight Facebook’s view of the vast opportunity to utilize social media in unprecedented brand building and sales growth.

Miller has been President of the Jordan Brand since July 2012. He served as President of the Portland Trail Blazers from 2007 to 2012 where he oversaw all aspects of the business and basketball operation. Prior to joining the Blazers, Miller spent 10 years at Nike serving as Vice President, USA Apparel from 1997 to 1999 and later became President of the Jordan Brand from 1999 to 2006.
Mark A. Emmert became the fifth president of the NCAA in October 2010. Prior to assuming his current role, Emmert had been president of his alma mater, the University of Washington, since 2004. Emmert is also President Emeritus of the University of Washington. Before returning to his alma mater, Emmert was chancellor of Louisiana State University from 1999 to 2004.
In his role as Facebook’s Head of Sports Brands and Sport Retailers, Nat Hampson oversees several teams that work with the top sports brands in order to design marketing solutions both on Facebook and Instagram. He partners with the largest sports brands and retailers in the world to help them acquire new customers, increase loyalty, grow commerce revenue, drive in store foot traffic and sales, and measure the efficacy and impact of their marketing programs. Before joining Facebook in 2011 he was regional director for Microsoft and has extensive experience in digital media and marketing.
