VERT Launches Jump Data App on Eve of Apple Watch Sales
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL– April 22, 2015 – VERT, leaders in wearable sports technology, announced that they will make their VERT app available upon release of the Apple Watch on April 24, 2015. Users now will have the ability to monitor their jump-related measurements directly on their Apple Watch. Measurements that will appear include: jump height, jump count and the new Jump RateTM feature.
According to the latest Apple press release, Apple Watch provides the detailed metrics you need during dedicated workout sessions for the most popular activities, such as walking, running and cycling through the Workout app. With the release of the new VERT app for the Apple Watch you will be able to view your jump height, jump count and the new Jump RateTM feature right on your wrist. “It is an exciting time for wearable technology and we are thrilled to offer new fitness measurements right on your Apple Watch,” says Martin Matak, founder of VERT.
The VERT Wearable Jump Monitor is the first sports wearable with a feature called Jump RateTM, a new fitness measurement. This feature measures the athletes jump load during a specific time period. “I can’t say enough how helpful the VERT Jump RateTM feature has been to my jump rope training,” said Angel Perez, a Crossfit competitor and athlete affiliated with Crossfit Fortress in Miami, Florida. “Innovation like this is what will help me improve and one day get to the Crossfit Games podium,” said Perez.
The VERT wearable jump monitor is the first sports wearable used during an NCAA event and transmits real-time data to coaches, viewers and broadcasters. VERT units can calculate motion in all directions, and does so through a proprietary algorithm to measure vertical height. The device itself is unnoticeable to both observers and the user, but allows coaches to monitor player jumps in practices, games, tryouts and workouts. This results in a better experience for the athletes who know their risk of injury will be minimized.
VERT is headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The company is focused on creating better experiences for sports and training. The VERT wearable jump monitor is used in all jump sports such as basketball, volleyball, BMX, skateboard and other health and fitness activities.
