SFIA Data Prominently Featured at Football Summit Hosted by Jerry Jones
Silver Spring, MD, January 18, 2017 – The Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) President & CEO, Tom Cove, gave a presentation Tuesday, featuring nationally recognized SFIA data at the ‘Football Summit’ hosted by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
“It’s was very exciting to be a part of the conversation that has the potential to improve the sport of football for generations to come,” said Cove.
The data highlighted in the presentation used SFIA research to offer possible solutions and responses to the concerns and challenges currently affecting football participation in the U.S.
“The SFIA, wants to not only help frame the debate, but to offer potential solutions to the challenges facing football, said Cove. “Our data will give everyone a better understanding of how to collectively move forward.”
The Summit was a meeting of seventeen of the most influential minds in football. They came together for three hours, with the stated goal to “ensure that the virtues of character and competition that have made this game such a prominent part of our country’s spirit for nearly 150 years remain healthy, inspiring, and in the forefront of the minds and hearts of young athletes, parents, coaches, administrators and fans.”
Jones and the Cowboys hosted the Summit at their brand new headquarters and practice facility in Frisco, Texas.
Those invited to the summit include: SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, Hall of Famer quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Archie Manning, Pro Football Hall of Fame President David Baker, CEO of USA Football Scott Hallenback, Nike global sports marketing executive vice president John Slusher, President & CEO National Football Foundation Steve Hatchell, and COO of the National Football League Tod Leiweke.
