The report is an overview of the 2005-2008 Canadian sporting goods market. The data is based on Trendex North America's Sports Vision Canada program. The 2005-2008 retail market size sales figures in this report are estimates and should be used with caution as the following sales are not included in this report: All exports Purchases made at retail in Canada by tourists living outside of Canada Team sport sales (products provided by teams or clubs to its players) Purchases made by players individually from their schools or coaches Purchases of apparel made at sporting goods stores which are not sports apparel (e.g. sport shirts, casual pants) The data in the completed questionnaires (62%+) is statistically adjusted and then projected to represent the sporting goods purchases of the entire Canadian population At no time should the report ever be used to estimate the total retail sales of an individual brand or retail outlet. The Sports Vision information is based on interviews conducted twice a year via the internet with nationally representative samples of 10,000 Canadian households. Sports Vision Canada is Canada's only consumer purchase tracking study for all sporting goods purchases. The program was launched in 1994
